Those employees who have been nominated as fire marshals in the workplace.

 Course Objective

This course aims to provide delegates with an understanding of fire safety in relation to their role as fire marshal/fire warden. This course will also give theoretical training on how to select and correctly use fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

Course Content

The Fire Marshall course is designed to cover:

  • Introduction to the legal framework
  • Responsibilities
  • Fire science
  • Fire risk assessment
  • How do people react in an emergency
  • Different classes of fire
  • Different types of fire extinguishers and equipment
  • Fire drills, fire detection and alarm, training, extinguishers and signage
  • Emergency plans and evacuation
  • Sweeping work areas safely
  • Movement of people
  • Incident information, missing persons, injured persons
  • Overview of first aid
  • Fire safety at home


At the end of the course delegates will undertake:

  • Multiple choice questions within or following the presentation

Successful participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
